Dr John Reynolds of the Department of Law was at the European Inter-University Centre in Venice this week to run a Model UN event for the European Master's (E.MA) programme in Human Rights and Democratisation.
The exercise involved simulation of the drafting, negotiation, amendment, and voting processes for a UN General Assembly resolution on the question of Palestine and the responsibility to protect doctrine in relation to civilians living under military occupation. 80 students from around the world participated.
Dr Reynolds runs a similar event as part of his international human rights module on Maynooth University Department of Law’s LLM (International Justice) programme.
