An exhibition entitled "House Portraits" ran in the foyer of Maynooth University library during Oct of this year. The exhibition features a series of paintings of ten family homes in the Jobstown area of Tallaght West by artist Mary Burke.
Prof. Mary Corcoran from the Department of Sociology gave a seminar on the topic "Home is Where the Art is. Painting suburbia in Tallaght West" on Wed. 21st Oct. in the library seminar room.
This is a unique cross-disciplinary project that brings artistic and sociological insights together in the context of a community development initiative.
