Fearghus Ó Conchúir, a PhD student in Geography with an Irish Research Council Enterprise Partnership Award (jointly between Maynooth University and the Project Arts Centre Dublin), has received an Arts Council of Ireland Project Award for 'The Casement Project 2016'. In the context of the centenary commemorations of the 1916 Rising, The Casement Project reflects on the relationship between nationalism and the body: Who gets to be in the national body? Whose body represents the nation? How does the national body move? How permeable are its borders? This project will include both academic events and the development of a new dance performance piece.
