Funding: 2021 IRC Government of Ireland Postdoctoral Fellowship

The Irish Research Council has recently announced that the call for the 2021 Government of Ireland Postdoctoral Fellowship programme will be opening on 2nd September 2021.
 
This programme aims to support suitably qualified applicants in any discipline to pursue a postdoctoral fellowship at an eligible higher education institution in Ireland. Fellows will hold a Government of Ireland Postdoctoral Fellowship. These fellowships can be held for either one or two years. 
 
Important dates for the 2021 call are as follows:
 

Call Open 2nd September 2021
FAQ deadline 4pm 14th October 2021
Applicant deadline 4pm 21st October 2021
Supervisor & referee deadline 4pm 4th November 2021
Research Office endorsement deadline 4pm 18th November 2021
Call outcome End of March 2022
Fellowship start date 1st September 2022

 
All applications should be submitted via the online system by the deadline of exactly 16:00 (Irish time) on 21 October 2021.
 
In the first instance, applicants are advised and encouraged to reflect on the attached 2022 GOIPD Call Document as well as the Indicative forms which may be found here in consultation with the 2022 Government of Ireland Terms and Conditions, and ensure they meet all eligibility criteria and are aware of all the requirements of the call.
 
Please note there will be an information session in the coming weeks, to advise applicants on how to apply to this call, and the supports offered by the Research Development Office.
