Maynooth University’s Centre for Entrepreneurship, Design and Innovation (EDEN) is searching for the best student business ideas for the Student Entrepreneurship Challenge 2015.
The department is asking students with business ideas, which given the right support and development might lead to successful enterprises, to come along to the launch event held in Phoenix Boardroom on 04 February at 4pm.
All the details of the competition for this year will be explained and refreshments will be provided and attendees have a chance to meet previous winners and will hear from a guest speaker from Enterprise Ireland.
The competition is entering its 7th year; some of the previous winners having gone on to become prominent and successful entrepreneurs. Both individuals and teams are eligible to enter.
Dr Peter Robbins, Centre Manager for EDEN at Maynooth University said the business ideas do not need to be fully fleshed out to be considered.
“First, you don’t have to have a highly developed idea that is almost market-ready.
“Ideas are generally born raw and unfinished and that’s where EDEN comes in, to help students develop their idea. It’s the spark of original creativity that we want to promote and encourage,” Dr Robbins said.
Between now and May, there will be a series of workshops and ‘creative-café’s’ that are designed to help participants develop and strengthen their idea.
Further details of the dates, topics and times, are available on this Moodle page.
