Third Year student awarded Sister-City Scholarship, Southwestern University, Chengdu, China

Chinese Studies student, Fergal Moran has been awarded the Sister-City Scholarship from Southwestern University of Finance and Economics, Chengdu, China.

​Fergal Moran commenced his year abroad studying at ​​Southwestern University of Finance and Economics, Chengdu, China in September 2014. The Scholarship will provide financial assistance to Fergal during his time in China. He says 'I'm very grateful as the scholarship is a great help financially while I'm over here'. Congratulations to Fergal we wish him a fantastic year abroad and look forward to his return to Maynooth University for final year in 2015-16. 

In March 2014, Chengdu Municipal People’s Government officially set up the “Government Scholarship for International Students from International Sister Cities of Chengdu City” in order to further the exchange and cooperation between Chengdu City and its international Sister Cities and enhance mutual  understanding and friendship. The Scholarship is provided by Chengdu Municipal People’s Government to support the study and living of students from international Sister Cities, who attend degree/diploma education or non-degree programs for more than three months in Chengdu. The County of Fingal in Ireland is twinned with Chengdu.
