Despite the challenging global circumstances, the music industry and wider arts world continues to flourish and supports almost 55,000 jobs in Ireland alone. The events industry, which overlaps with the arts sector but which incorporates many non-arts activities, generates an estimated €3.5 billion for the Irish economy annually, €850 million from the export market, and supports an additional 35,000 full-time equivalent employees. It is this exciting employment environment that many of you will be emerging into following your degrees and, understandably, the choices available to you, knowing simply where to start or what to do, can often seem overwhelming!
We have invited six leading speakers from across the music and arts world to join us in the Bewerunge Room on 24th April at 4 p.m. (also streamed online) to offer their advice and experience about finding employment in the wider music industry and to answer your questions about how best to succeed in the arts world. We will also be discussing how postgraduate study fits into this bigger picture and how our taught masters courses in the Music Department can help augment your skills to improve your employment prospects. This a free event and open to everyone, though registration is necessary at the link below to reserve your seat (physical or virtual!):
