Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI)
The Faculty of Arts and Humanities is dedicated to fostering an environment where diversity is celebrated, and everyone is treated with fairness and respect. We are committed to ensuring equality for all individuals, regardless of gender, gender identity, disability, ethnicity, religion or belief, sexual orientation, marital or transgender status, age, or nationality.
As the importance of Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) continues to grow across Maynooth University, our Faculty actively strives to contribute to the advancement of equality through all of our activities, initiatives, and practices.
Core Components of our EDI Initiatives:
- Faculty EDI Committee: The Faculty's EDI Committee plays a crucial role in promoting inclusivity, fairness, and equal opportunities for both staff and students. It drives the implementation of EDI initiatives across the Faculty.
- Athena Swan Bronze Award: The Faculty is proud to hold the Athena Swan Bronze Award, a testament to our commitment to advancing gender equality and diversity. This award reflects our ongoing work and dedication to making our community more inclusive.
- Department/School EDI Representatives: Our Department and School EDI Representatives are instrumental in embedding EDI principles across the Faculty. They act as key figures in advancing equality, diversity, and inclusion within their respective areas.
- Faculty EDI Forum: The Faculty EDI Forum provides an open, inclusive, and non-hierarchical space for all Faculty staff to discuss EDI-related issues, share ideas, and collaborate on initiatives to promote a more equitable and supportive environment.
On our EDI webpage a variety of EDI links and resources are available for both Faculty staff and students, offering support, guidance, and valuable information on how to engage with and promote EDI within the Faculty and beyond.
