Sunday, September 1, 2024 - 12:00

Maynooth University's Chinese Studies and Computer Science Departments jointly organized the 2024 Maynooth University Summer School, held from August 18 to 30, 2024.

Over 20 students from China's Sichuan University, Southwest Jiaotong University, and Zhejiang University gathered in Maynooth to attend lectures delivered by faculty from Maynooth University, University College Cork, and University College Dublin. These lectures covered a range of topics, including Computer Science, Europe: Past, Present, and Future; Intercultural Studies; Marxism in Europe; China-EU Relations; Sino-African Relations; Irish Politics and Society; and Irish Language and Culture.

In addition to the academic sessions, students participated in a variety of cultural and social activities during their stay in Maynooth.

The Maynooth University Chinese Studies Department views this programme as a significant step forward in strengthening the steadily growing relationship with our partner universities in China. We look forward to welcoming the next cohort of Summer School students to Maynooth in August 2025.
