Edited by Stephen Mandal, Michael Potterton and Denis Shine, the beautifully illustrated Discovering Medieval Ferns was launched recently in the Co. Wexford town by Councillor John O’Rourke, chairman of Enniscorthy Municipal District. This new book shines a light on the remarkable history and archaeology of Ferns in the Middle Ages, highlighting the intriguing discoveries of recent excavations. An interdisciplinary team of more than twenty scholars presents the most complete picture to date of the origins and evolution of medieval Ferns, along with some directions and priorities for future research.
