We all have mental health. Just like our physical body needs to be nourished and taken care of, so does our mind.
It is a precious resource, essential to helping us function and go about our daily lives.
As outlined in the Healthy Campus Charter and Framework, 'wellbeing’ reflects positive mental health where a person can realise their own abilities, cope with the normal stresses of life, work productively and contribute to their community. It also recognises the different factors which can influence our wellbeing over the course of our life.
Working or studying at University can be an incredible, enriching experience but, it can also be challenging and stressful. Minding your mental health and seeking support when you need it is essential to successfully navigating this journey.
Maynooth University is committed to proactive work under the HEA National Student Mental Health and Suicide Prevention Framework, and is proud to provide a range of on-campus services and supports. All these services are free of charge, and no problem is too small to seek support for.
