For a long time, scientists have explored the impact of humans on the environment and vice versa. We now know that health and the environment are inextricably linked - what we do in our daily lives seriously impacts the environment, and the environment plays an important role in our overall health and wellbeing.

At the most basic level we need clean air and water to survive. Moving beyond this, spending time in nature can have a really positive impact our mental health and wellbeing.
At Maynooth University we aim to provide not only a culture of safety, respect and inclusion, but also a healthy physical environment where all staff and students have access to clean air, fresh drinking water and nature spaces to spend time in.
