The Student Support Officer, Ciarán Coughlan, leads the student support division (Student Advisory, Student Budgeting Advice, The HUB) within Student Services. Ciarán works with students over a range of complex issues around academic support, accommodation, mediation, bereavement, integration, mental health as well as many others.

Ciarán offers appointments, both virtually and in-person and students are welcome to book an appointment to see him, by emailing student.support@mu.ie.

Student Helpdesk

The Student Helpdesk can provide students the answer to questions they may have, both as they prepare for
university life or during their time at Maynooth.

The website offers a wealth of information on a wide range of topics from Accommodation to Registration!

It also provides guidance to students who may be experiencing challenges and are unsure of where or how
to access support.

Personal Supports

Student Services offer a range of supports to students, which you may find useful. The team are welcoming, approachable and supportive and all services operate confidentially.

Counselling Service	A team of professional Counsellors are available for students throughout the year. They are very familiar with the challenges students can experience in particular with the anxiety and stress of managing workload.
Chaplaincy	The University Chaplain for students is a lay Chaplain and is available as a listening ear. Students find the Chaplain approachable, non-judgmental, practical and a great resource to have a chat with about how you are feeling.
Student Budgeting Advice Service	The service offers support and advice with managing your money for university. A range of resources, links and information is available on the Money Matters webpage. One to one appointments are available to all students with a weekly drop-in clinic run every Wednesday from 10:30-12:30 (check the website for updates before attending). So if in doubt talk to your Student Budgeting Advisors - there is no judgement only advice and options.
MaynoothStudentpad Service	MaynoothStudentpad Service is a listing service of the private accommodation available locally. This list is available on the maynoothstudentpad website. More information and guidance is available for students who may be in need of sourcing accommodation on the MaynoothStudentpad webpage.

Academic Supports

Some other academic supports available to students for the duration of their programme of study, which may be helpful are:

Academic Advisory	The team offers advice and assistance with the general experience of university life and offers help with students encountering difficulties in their programme of study.
The Writing Centre	The Writing Centre is located in the School of Education and offers a free, friendly, non-judgmental writing help to any student, undergraduate or postgraduate regardless of course, degree or level.
LIST (Library Information & Skills Tutorials)	LIST offers both classroom style and online sessions covering a wide variety of skills and topics such as 'finding items on your reading list' and 'Essay writing skills'.
Careers Service	The Careers Service provides a service that is student-focussed, professional and informative. The team are happy to assist students and work with them as they progress through the steps in discovering their career.
