The role of the Associate Dean for Research and Engagement, within the area of research, is to promote excellence and innovation, to propose and implement strategic initiatives, and to advise the Dean in the design and implementation of the Faculty’s strategic research goals. The remit of the Associate Dean includes postgraduate and post-doctoral research and researchers in the Faculty.
 
The Associate Dean will work closely with the Vice-President for Research and the Research Development and Graduate Studies Offices, to ensure alignment of strategic and operational policies between the Faculty and the overall University.
 
The role of Associate Dean for Research and Engagement in the Faculty of Arts and Humanities was originally created in 2022.
 
The position is currently held by Dr Anne O'Brien.
