Biography
Research Interests
Daniel de Zubía Fernández is a Basque and Spanish native who obtained an Arts degree in Language, Literature and Linguistics (Licenciado en Filosofía y Letras, Filología Inglesa) and Curso de Adaptación Pedagógica (equivalent to PGDE) in Modern Languages, both from the Universidad de Deusto/Deustoko Unibertsitatea, an M.Sc. in Education & Cotemporary Society from the University of Ulster and a PhD in Arts from NUIM. He teaches modules for the Language Centre and the Department of Spanish, which include oral expression, aural comprehension, Spanish and Latin American Literature, Sociolinguistics in Portugal and Spain, grammar and translation, and collaborated in the Basque and Portuguese Programs. Modules taught, amongst others: SPA101/2, SPA102/3, SPA201/2, SPA203/4, SPA311, SPA303/04, SPA331/2 and European Studies. He also teaches beginners and intermediate Spanish evening classes and IWLP Spanish for the Language Centre. His research interests are Comparative Literature, Spanish and Portuguese Literatures, ELE & EFL, Education and Sociolinguistics.
