Prize: Professor Fionntán de Brún (Dept of Irish) has won the Gradam Úrscéalaíochta an Oireachtais
Fionntán de Brún has won the first prize in the Oireachtas na Gaeilge novel competition for his work Béal na Péiste. As a scholar, de Brún is best known until now as Professor of Modern Irish at the University of Maynooth.

International Commission for the History of Towns meeting 2022
The annual meeting of the ICHT met in Ireland for the first time in 38 years. Representatives from fifteen member states arrived to take part in the meeting which was a collaborative event between hosts at Maynooth University, the Royal Irish Academy, Queen's University Belfast, Derry and Strabane District Council, Dublin City University, Cavan County Council and Enniskillen Castle Museums
