Biography
Ceapadh Aoife Ní Ghloinn ina Stiúrthóir ar Lárionad na Gaeilge: Taighde, Teagasc agus Tástáil sa bhliain 2020. Roimhe sin, chaith sí naoi mbliana ag teagasc na Gaeilge san institiúid chéanna agus ag plé le tograí éagsúla de chuid Lárionad na Gaeilge; ina measc, Teastas Eorpach na Gaeilge (TEG), an Teastas i Múineadh na Gaeilge do Dhaoine Fásta agus Vifax. Chaith sí tréimhse freisin, ó 2008 go 2011, ina Léachtóir agus Scoláire ar Cuairt in Ionad an Léinn Éireannaigh, Ollscoil San Tomás, Houston, Texas. Tá spéis aici i roinnt gnéithe den teangeolaíocht fheidhmeach, go háirithe an sealbhú teanga, an measúnú teanga, an t-aiseolas ceartaitheach, an taighde ar chorpais foghlaimeora agus an Fráma Tagartha Comónta Eorpach
(FTCE).
Aoife Ní Ghloinn was appointed Director of The Centre for Irish Language Research, Teaching and Testing in 2020. Prior to that, she spent nine years teaching Irish and working with various projects in the Centre, including the European Certificate in Irish (TEG), the Certificate in Teaching Irish to Adults and Vifax. She also spent three years, from 2008 to 2011, as Visiting Lecturer and Scholar in the Center for Irish Studies, University of St Thomas, Houston, Texas. She is interested in a number of areas of applied linguistics, particularly language acquisition, language assessment, corrective feedback, learner corpus research and the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).
