On 14 December 2022，a Chinese Cultural Day was held at Maynooth University to celebrate Christmas and the New Year. The event was jointly organized by the Chinese Students & Scholars Association Ireland, MU Chinese Studies, and UCC Confucius Institute. Over 80 students and colleagues from Maynooth University, UCD and UCC took part in the event. The event included a traditional Chinese riddle guessing game, a photo session in Chinese costume and a cultural performance. During the event, teachers and students from MU Chinese Studies sang the Chinese song "Friends" （朋友）. Professor Joseph Timoney from MU Computer Science Department also performed a Chinese classic song 'On the Other Side of the Water' (在水一方) for the audience.
