The modules offered are drawn from the part-time evening degree programmes in Community Studies and in Local Studies. A module is a block of learning in which a particular topic is taught and assessed. 5 credit modules require 24 hours of class contact and 48 hours of self directed learning.
Students may take single modules from one of these programmes. If they complete 4 modules (20 Credits), they will be awarded an NUI Maynooth Certificate (Level 7) in either Culture & Society (Community Studies programme) OR People Place and Heritage (Local Studies programme).

Mature Students
Participants need to be 21 years of age or over on 1st January of the year in which the course commences. As courses are delivered in keeping with adult education practice, participants will be expected to: be willing to engage with group activities and group learning; be willing to learn through dialogue and reflection on experience; have a level of literacy that is sufficient to complete the assessment requirements.
