About

Is í Ailín an comhordaitheoir ar an Teastas i Múineadh na Gaeilge d’Fhoghlaimeoirí Fásta ar líne. Tá sí ag obair leis an Lárionad ag plé le hoiliúint do mhúinteoirí agus le forbairt ábhar teagaisc ó 2007. D’fhorbair sí an Teastas i Múineadh na Gaeilge d’Aosaigh don Lárionad, mar aon leis an Dioplóma i Múineadh na Gaeilge d’Aosaigh agus an cháilíocht nua seo ar líne. Tá spéis ar leith aici in oiliúint do mhúinteoirí – múinteoirí faoi oiliúint agus múinteoirí cáilithe araon. Tá obair déanta aici le lucht teagaisc ag gach leibhéal – iad siúd atá ag múineadh i suíomh luathoideachais, ag leibhéal bunscoile, ag leibhéal meánscoile, ar an tríú leibhéal agus san earnáil aosoideachais. Tá taithí aici chomh maith ar a bheith ag plé le dreamanna atá ag múineadh na Gaeilge thar lear. Tá cúrsaí oiliúna tugtha aici ón mbliain 2008 do Fulbright agus don Irish Canada University Foundation – cúrsaí do na cúntóirí teanga a mbronntar scoláireacht orthu chun a bheith ag múineadh na Gaeilge in ollscoileanna i Meiriceá agus i gCeanada.

Tá taithí ag Ailín ar fhorbairt siollabas agus ábhar teagaisc agus thug sí roinnt blianta ag obair mar chomhordaitheoir ar thionscadal chun siollabas nua agus ábhar teagaisc samplach a fhorbairt do mhúineadh na Gaeilge ar an tríú leibhéal. Tionscadal idir-institiúideach a bhí i gceist ar ghlac 17 institiúid thuaidh agus theas páirt ann. Bhí an siollabas agus an t-ábhar teagaisc bunaithe ar an bhFráma Tagartha Comónta Eorpach.

Tá BA sa Ghaeilge agus sa Fhraincis ag Ailín ó Ollscoil na hÉireann Gaillimh – céim a raibh bliain Erasmus in ollscoil Université de Bretagne Occidentale i mBrest na Fraince mar chuid di. Bhain sí amach Ardteastas san Oideachas in Ollscoil na hÉireann Gaillimh chomh maith agus MA sa Nua-Ghaeilge i gColáiste na hOllscoile Baile Átha Cliath.

Ailín is currently coordinating the Centre’s online course in Teaching Irish to Adult Learners. She has been working with the Centre in the areas of teacher training and materials development since 2007. She developed the Certificate in Teaching Irish to Adult Learners in the Centre, as well as the Diploma in Teaching Irish and the new online certification. She has a special interest in teacher training – both pre-service teacher training and continuous professional development. She has worked with teachers who teach Irish across all education sectors – the early childhood sector, primary level, secondary level, third level, and the adult and community education sector. She has also had the opportunity to work with those who teach Irish internationally and has delivered training since 2008 for Fulbright and the Irish Canada University Foundation – courses for their Foreign Language Teaching Assistants who are awarded graduate placements to teach Irish in universities in the US and Canada.

Ailín also has many years of experience in syllabus and materials development and was the coordinator and developer of a new syllabus and sample teaching materials for the teaching of Irish at third level. This was an inter-institutional project involving 17 third level institutions, north and south. The syllabus and materials were based on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.
