If you require a new Telephone Extension OR you are inheriting an Extension already in your new Office/Room please email [email protected] providing the following information:
- Your forename
- Your surname
- The Department/Centre you belong to
- Your Office/Room location (Building, Room number and floor)
- The Extension already in the Office/Room you are assigned (Should there be one already in this location)
Relocate Extension
If you are moving location it is standard practice that you take your existing Telephone Extension Number (should you have one) with you to your new location. Should you wish IT Services to relocate your Extension Number please email [email protected] supplying the following information:
- Your name
- Your department
- Your existing extension number (should you have one)
- The Office/Room location you are vacating (Building, Room Number and Floor)
- The Extension number already located in the room you are relocating to (should there be one)
- The Office/Room location you are relocating to (Building, Room Number and Floor)
Access Level
Your fixed line Telephone Extension can be configured to have any of the following Access Levels:
- Internal calls only
- Internal and local calls only
- Internal, local and national calls only (including mobiles)
- Internal, local, national, mobiles and international calls
If you require a change to an Access Level please email [email protected] stating your:
- Telephone extension number
- Name and Department
Access Levels will only be amended following approval from your department.
Report a Fault
If you wish to report a fault please email [email protected] supplying the following information:
- Your name
- Your department
- Your telephone extension number that the fault is associated with
- A full description of the nature of the fault
Upgrade Handset
Selecting the appropriate model of handset to upgrade to is something that you will need to discuss with IT Services. If you wish to upgrade your handset please email [email protected] stating your:
- Telephone extension number
- Name and Department
- Any other relevant information relating to contacting you
- Brief outline of the upgrade you require
And IT Services will contact you to discuss your options.
Costs of upgrade must be paid by the relevant department. Individuals wishing to upgrade their handset will have to fill out a Requisition Form before an order can be processed.
Handset - How To
To call the Switchboard:
Lift the handpiece and Dial 9.
To make an Internal Call:
Lift the handpiece and dial the Extension Number you require.
To make an External Call:
Lift the handpiece and dial 0 followed by the Telephone Number you require.
To forward/divert your calls to another Extension:
- Lift the handpiece
- Dial *21*
- Followed by the extension number you wish to divert your calls to
- Followed by #
- Re-cradle the handpiece
To cancel diverting your calls to another Extension:
- Lift the handpiece
- Dial #21#
- Re-cradle the handpiece
