This programme will challenge and stimulate students who wish to pursue a career in the financial markets.
The combination of financial, mathematical and computer programming skills will equip graduates to succeed and prosper in a fast-changing banking and financial sector. Students will have the opportunity to put the theory into practice during the work placement period and savour the daily life of a professional in the financial services industry.

First year
- Finance and Economics (15 credits)
- Computer Science (15 credits)
- Mathematics and Statistics (15 credits)
- Plus another 15 credits from Accounting, double Computer Science, Critical Skills or your choice of a subject from Bachelor of Arts Groups 1, 2 or 6, except Mathematics (Pure). See BA groups table.
Students taking Accounting may transfer to MH401 Finance in second year, while students taking 22.5 credits of Computer Science may transfer to MH601 Computer Science and Software Engineering in second year.
2nd year
- Finance and Economics (15 compulsory credits)

Mature Applicants
Mature applicants are assessed separately to school-leavers. Mature applicants are 23 years or older by 1st January in the year of entry to the University. For part-time/flexible degrees the mature age is 21.
Mature applicants who have a disability
If you have a disability or specific learning difficulty (e.g. dyslexia), and require examination support for any written tests that may be required, please submit supporting documentation by 15 March 2024 to the Access Office.
